If you could choose one book to suggest to a JW...
by SweetBabyCheezits ini'm sure this isn't an uncommon question but i'll ask anyway.. suppose you had the chance to suggest one book, essay, article, or other writing with the goal of helping a loved one wake up... which one would it be?.
bear in mind the goal is to subvert the programmed hair-trigger defenses that cause a complete shutdown of critical thinking.
this automatically excludes anything that would directly place the wt society or its history in a negative light.

Are you a fader, Df'd, DA'd, or Still In?
by brotherdan ini thought this would be an interesting poll that would show everyone the backgrounds of all of us when we left, if we have.. for myself, i am not df'd, but i am attempting a fade.
i still go to some meetings with the wife to help with kids, but that's it.
no commenting or field service.. what about everyone else?.

Feb. 15th WT - WT Society says DFed Ones are Lawless- Just Like Demons
by flipper ini would assume that some or a good number of us here as normal humans in this society - consider " lawless " actions to include murder , robbery, extortion, rape, child abuse, war , terrorism, etc.
the wt society has their own definition of what's considered " lawless ".
anything that's considered a disfellowshipping offense in the jehovah's witnesses is now considered " lawless ".

Life is Too short: Bastards, I wonder why they don't put this type of experience in the Watchtower they know that this is te pain that it causes. Yet they stand by and know of such things , no heart at all. That is not the love that Jesus spoke of. I knew of a situation where a young man hung himself while disfellowshipped. I won't give too many details for fear I will be outed but it almost killed me.
Something has to be done. I don't care if they shun people at kingdom hell but for familys it is wicked. stuck in

How Many Of You "Reached Out" For Extra "Privileges"?
by minimus inwhether you are a male or female, the organization was always making you try to reach out for extra privileges whether it be pioneering for a month, year or a lifetime, going to bethel, or becoming a "servant" in the hall.. did you feel compelled to "reach out" or did you want to do more for "jehovah god"?.

Nice dream: I know exactly how your husban feels. I have the same emotions. Some days I could just tell them all to take a leap but through experience I Know that it would hurt really bad to lose contact with my family and would tear my wife apart. One day she told me she was going to speak with the elders to have them help me. I helped her to see that if she did she would be making a huge mistake. Finally with reasoning she understood what I was telling her.
But who knows some thing like this upcoming rag article may push her over the edge. But beleive me I can lie pretty well and they would have to see me typing on my computer to prove I post here. And then if they did I would go to my deathbed suing them . I would read every law book there is and see every lawyer I could. I would flood them with frivolus lawsuits. That would keep them busy. To hell with them. stuck in

How disheartening. This stuff has got to stop. I hope that lawsuits are begun around the world. Many have got to stand up to them. To put that kind of pressure on familys just makes me sick. I know that is one Watchtower study I will not attend. I would not be able to sit there and listen to the hurt and pain handed out . I am getting sicker of it by the day. They are so afraid that they will lose people and the sad thing is that we and they know that it has nothing to do with spiritual reasons only to protect the cult. They have no right to tear familys apart that is purely unchristian, that is not the love that Jesus spoke of. That is hate!
I could go on but I will stop because it will just make me madder. stuck in

Just something I've noticed that makes me wonder...
by Mr. Falcon ini have found it very odd how much in-fighting and back-biting go on among certian boe's.. and it's rather strange that several (not all) of them will vent to me about how they can't stand this one, or they think this other one is out of line, or that elder's wife talks too much, etc.
or they whine about how many elder meetings they have to go to, or how they are frustrated because they have to deal with sister loudmouth-who-pisses-off-everyone-else.. and i sit there wondering why they would ever want to continue to do this job?
it's thankless, offers no compensation, rips you away from your family, and forces you to rub shoulders with company men and puts you in a position where you have to render judgement on someone with little or no understanding of what the psychological consequences to that person could be.

Falcon that is much of the reason why I couldn't do it anymore. I say get out of the kitchen if you can't take the heat. Most do not have the balls to quit. Most are more interested in being a big man with a badge. Penis envy I think! They need others to look up to them since no one in the world would give them a second look. Most but not all have menial jobs that suck. And as for all of the bs from the congregation it happens everywhere. They are handling matters that they have no right to handle. Since when does someone with no education have the where with all to counsel people about sexual matters or those with no kids even single men telling people how to care for children.
Since there is no holy spirit they really f up peoples lives. Oh well enough of a rant. stuck in

I think also that many people are so tired and depressed over their miserable life that they want something better. So they continue in the lie. My wife and my good friend are an example, they have bought into the dream so hard that sometimes I think they will wait forever.
So sad because even by their teachings if you die your sins are forgiven. So why the hell would 60 + year old people want to push so hard. If you die you will still get a shot at paradise they say even if it is only to a resurection of judgement. Not that I beleive any of it at all because I don't.
As someone said earlier they are some smart bastards at headquarters because they have both angles covered. And then they tell you it is because they have Jehovahs backing. Yeah right! stuck in
